Welcome to the Lathrop R-II School's website.  Thank You for checking us out!
Our Mission is to develop character and educate all students to achieve lifetime success using high expectations, relevant experiences, and caring relationships.  In our schools, our community or on the playing field, we expect our students to score in the top of the state in academics, as well as in activities.  In recent years we've had ACT scores over 30, Academic All-State Softball Players, All-State Football Players, State Wrestling Champions, State Track Champions, State FFA Degree winners, a State Championship Softball Team, Poetry Out Loud state contest qualifiers, National Forensics Tournament Qualifiers, State Solo and Ensemble qualifiers, a Superior Band Rating, an Excellent Vocal Music Rating, State FFA Degree winners, Trap Shooting Champions and the list goes on.

We are replacing lockers in one of our high school locker rooms.  Some are in good shape, some are not.  We are putting them up for sale to the highest bidder by pair and you can take one pair or all.  Each pair measures 24"x72"x18".  We are taking bids through Thursday and the winner will need to have them gone by Friday night.  If you are interested please contact Chris Fine at chris.fine@lathropschools.com, or at 528-7500.   Images are on our Facebook page.

A hearing on our proposed tax rate for this year will be held at 6:45 pm on Wednesday, August 14th in the board meeting room in the Administration Building 700 East Street.  Click HERE for the official notice and more information.

First day of school is Wednesday, August 21st!  Students new to the district should contact one of the buildings to start the enrollment process ASAP!

Congratulations to Blake Gordon, Audrey Smith, Madelyn Vonderfecht, and Jordan Zesch for being named a KCI Scholar Athlete!  Only 33 athletes out of all KCI Conference Student Athletes earned this award!  Huge Honor!

Lathrop R-2 offers the Mule Nation a plethora of electronic ways to keep up with your child’s performance and school activities in general.  Probably too many really..but everyone has their preference on how to receive information and we aim to please! Our LHS Wrestlers are the KCI Conference Champions for 2019! The MSHSAA District Tournament is Friday the 8th and Saturday the 9th in Lathrop.

E-Cigarettes are not much safer than cigarettes.  Students are not allowed to possess or use e-cigarettes or JUULs on school property or at school events.  Parents should be aware that a seemingly large number of high school and junior high students are using these cigarette alternatives.  Click HERE for an informational brochure.  Click HERE for a website with more information on JUULing.
