Thursday evening, Nov. 21st, nine LHS art students participated in the annual Art Invitational hosted by Raymore Peculiar High School. 12 schools attended
The evening involved a juried art exhibition and a studio contest. The contest involved students creating art in a category such as drawing still life, painting still life, drawing figure, printmaking, handbuilding ceramics, and wheel throwing ceramic. Students had 1 1/2 hours to create their art and then judges went around and awarded 1st-3rd place in each category. The art exhibition was also judged, awarding 1-3rd place.
An award ceremony at the end of the evening recognized all the winners with ribbons and a prize of art supplies.
Two LHS students place in the in the Art Exhibition. LHS Senior Christina Baker (above) was awarded 1st place for her Self Portrait Drawing and LHS Senior Devyn Robinson(bleow) was awarded 3rd place for her photography.
