Lathrop High School wants to thank everyone involved in the 5th Annual LHS College & Career Fair!
Over 450 students from Lathrop, Braymer, Osborn, and Clinton Co R-3 had the opportunity to visit with about 50 entities from various career paths on Wednesday, October 14, on the LHS Campus. This also included representatives from universities, technical and trade schools, unions, and military branches. The fair aims to build students' awareness of their postsecondary options.
We appreciate those representatives who were able to join us this year and share valuable information with the students.

We're thankful for rootEd Missouri!

Clinton County R-3, Braymer, Lathrop, and Osborn school districts are a part of the rootEd Alliance. Founded in 2018, rootEd Alliance is a national nonprofit that provides dedicated career advising in rural high schools to ensure students are equipped to pursue career pathways aligned with industry needs, including those in their home communities. rootEd connects students to training programs and partners with communities, states, and employers to close talent gaps and drive rural economic prosperity.
Today, 9.5 million students live in rural communities, representing a vital segment of the future workforce and a powerful source of talent and innovation for the U.S. economy. Yet generational poverty and limited access to support prevent many from pursuing careers that lead to long-term success, particularly in high-demand trades and technical fields.
Since 2018, rootEd advisors like Andrea Stephens/Clinton County R-3, Becky O’Dell/Braymer, Susan Rupert/Lathrop and Ashley Price/Osborn, have supported nearly 90,000 rural high school seniors. Attending the College & Career Fair is just one of many ways these advisors create career exposure opportunities for students to explore postsecondary options.
ROOTED’S IMPACT
29% more students are pursuing college and career training after high school
54% fewer students are entering low-skill, low-wage jobs
