11th and 12th grade parents, Tomorrow, 4/9/24, is going to be a little different at LHS. We have 41 juniors/seniors signed up to take the ACT tomorrow morning, but the rest of the junior and senior students will be doing some type of community service for hours 1st through 4th hour. Some of the projects will include, trash pick up around the school, A Hwy, Valley Street, and Park Street. Other projects will include painting fences at the fairgrounds south of town, painting Mule Shoes on the street on Oak Street (the main street of town), organizing the clothes closet at the middle school, and cleaning the high school bleachers. This is our way to give back to the community for always supporting our awesome school district! Students will be transported via a school bus to their assigned location. Click the link for more information regarding the "Mules Give Back" community project for tomorrow. https://5il.co/2i3g3 In addition, I will be sharing the rosters for each community service project with the students via their school email. Remind them to dress for outside weather. We will be supplying rubber gloves, trash bags, safety vests, etc... If you have any questions, feel free to email Mr. Bowers and/or Mrs. Rupert. Thank you. Mr. Bowers

Don’t forget about the Blood Drive tomorrow, 2-6 pm at LHS. Sponsored by the LHS NHS! Did you know the Community Blood Center must collect almost 600 units of blood daily to meet the needs of area hospital patients? As there is no substitute for blood, we rely on volunteer donors like you to supply the life-saving blood and blood components. We hope you will join us in our efforts to provide what could be a gift of life for someone. Help by sharing this information and/or make an appointment: https://donate.savealifenow.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/80691 The group code for our event is CBIL.

Senior Parents, March 13th, seniors will attend the On My Own event in Plattsburg. This is a real-life simulation that gives students the opportunity to experience their future in a fun way. During the simulation, students will make healthy & wise lifestyle choices similar to those adults face on a daily basis. Students receive a monthly salary for their chosen career type, a family scenario, & an asset. Then, they proceed through “real life,” deducting taxes, determining a savings goal, & spending their monthly salaries on the necessities as well as luxury items that reflect the career & lifestyle they chose. We will leave the school at 8:30 am & return between 11-11:30.
