Due to icy road conditions, Lathrop R II School District is closed today, Tuesday, January 23. This day will not be made up.

The Excelsior Springs Career Center will be closed tomorrow, Friday 1/19/24 due to weather. It will be an AMI day.

The FAFSA Frenzy night scheduled for tomorrow evening at LHS has been postponed. The new date is TBD. Mr. Bowers

Due to extreme cold temperatures, Lathrop R II will be closed Tuesday, January 16, 2024. This day will be made up on Monday, January 29, 2024.

Due to inclement weather, the Lathrop R II School District will not be in school today, Friday, January 12, 2024.

The LHS parking lot is very slick so please be careful pulling into the lot and parking as well as walking to the building. Thank you. Mr. Bowers

Junior class parents, We still need a few more volunteers to help work the concession stand at the football game tomorrow night. You can volunteer to work the 1st half, halftime, and 2nd half. This is the last home game to work to help cover the cost of the prom tickets. Please reach out to renee.dorman@lathropschools.com if you can help. Remember, anybody can work for a junior, it doesn't have to the the parent or the junior. Thanks for the help.

Parents, I emailed the LHS students the following statement this morning. I just wanted to share it with you as well so we are all on the same page. Starting 2nd quarter, the following policy, that can be found on page 13 of the student handbook, will be enforced. Students who arrive at school after (8:05 a.m.) and do not have administrative approval may not be eligible to participate in practices and/or activities. This includes participants and spectators to all school-related activities.    

There was a Ford key found in the middle of the road near Elm street. Chief Speiser with the Lathrop Police Department has it.

A friendly reminder that tonight is the LHS Homecoming Powder Puff game and Boys Class Dance Performances. The festivities start at 7:00 and the gates open at 6:45. This is a fundraiser for our LHS student council so activity passes will not be accepted. Thank you.

Congratulations to LHS choir members Elizabeth McGregor, Jesse Moore and Kayla Quinn who auditioned Saturday and were selected for 2023 All District Choir. They will be performing with other students from NW Missouri on October 28th at Platte County High School. #rollmules!
